Tigers Radio Announcer Goes to Bat for RepcoLite

April 2007

In 2006, after a nearly 10 year hiatus, RepcoLite Paints once more entered the professional sports arena and started advertising during Tigers games.  At that point--at the beginning of the 2006 season--nobody had any reason to believe the Tigers would be anything other than an average team.  But that didn't matter to RepcoLite.  We were Tigers' fans regardless of the scoreboard and we were excited to be once again advertising locally during every single game.

Well, apparently this support--this down-home, local, grass roots kind of support from a company like RepcoLite Paints was exactly what the Tigers needed because the minute we started running ads, the Tigers got red hot.  Of course, we immediately decided that the Tigers' success was DIRECTLY linked to our advertising support.  After all, could there possibly be any other explanation?  We didn't think so.

Dan DickersonWell, in an attempt to gain support for our theory from members of the Tigers' organization, we contacted Dan Dickerson, the Tigers' play-by-play announcer.  We explained our belief and were excited when he informed us that he in fact was familiar with RepcoLite Paints and would be glad to supply the voice-over for the radio spots for the 2007 season.

So we send our thanks to Mr. Dickerson for producing some great radio spots and we would also like to encourage you to make sure you're tuning in to the Tigers on WHTC or WLAV and listening for the RepcoLite spots.  (And if you're not catching them during the game, but want to hear them anyway . . . check out the links below).
