Seeing the World
Posin' WIth His Peeps
Sure, the RepcoBuddy is Holland-based, but that doesn't mean he doesn't get around. No, sir (or ma'am)! He's always giddy to see new places, visit America's landmarks, and even travel the world. So, throw him in your suitcase (or better yet, buckle him into the front seat of your car) and see the sights with your RepcoBuddy. And, when you do, don't forget to snap some great pictures of him and you could win one of our Wii's!

The Objective

Nothing difficult here: just take the RepcoBuddy on your vacation and snap some pictures of him in exotic, far-away, or unusual (and tasteful) locations.

Category Specific Rules

  • RULE 1: The RepcoBuddy MUST be photographed near a road sign, a history marker, or some other identifying marker that designates WHERE the RepcoBuddy is. (It's not difficult to imagine that a picture of the can positioned in some red rocks could easily be claimed to be a picture of the can in the Grand Canyon, when in reality, it's just posing in the rock pile in your backyard).
    • EXCEPTION 1: If your shot depicts an obvious location, you don't need to include a shot of a sign.
      • EXAMPLE: A photo of the RepcoBuddy in the Tiger's dugout, sitting on Jim Leyland's lap doesn't need to have a "Comerica Park" sign in the shot--we'll know from the setting that the can's at Comerica Park.
  • EXCEPTION 2: If your favorite shot of the RepcoBuddy is a shot that DOESN'T include a sign AND DOESN'T take place in an obvious location, then submit that photo along with a second shot that shows the can by a sign.
  • EXAMPLE: If your favorite shot of the RepcoBuddy is indeed a shot of the can positioned in rocks you SAY are part of the Grand Canyon, submit a second photo that shows the RepcoBuddy standing by a sign that says "Welcome to the Grand Canyon." (If you're really there, that should be easy . . . if you're not . . . well, that's the point).
  • RULE 2: To make distance determinations easier for us (and easier is always better), please let us know in your submission email exactly what City and State the picture was taken in.

  • RULE 3: REMEMBER--ANY "PHOTOSHOPPED" OR COMPUTER-MANIPULATED IMAGE SUBMITTED TO THIS CATEGORY WILL RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION OF ALL OF AN ENTRANTS PHOTOS FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTEST. (We don't like to be hard-nosed about this, but we want a fair contest. If you're going to Photoshop a photo, please submit it to the Photoshopped! category).

Winning Photos Will Be Determined Based on the Following:

  • Furthest Distance Traveled. (Distance will be measured "as the crow flies" from our 473 W. 17th St. location in Holland, Michigan).
  • Comedy Value of the Shot. (Hey, we're not terribly stuffy here--if you send us something really, really funny, that's definitely going to help your chances).
  • Unique Location/Setting. (Be aware that the RepcoBuddy could never leave Michigan but still find himself in a winning position as he's photographed in the Tigers' dugout or maybe playing first base . . . or third).
  • Humanitarian Efforts. (Are you working on a mission trip? Put the RepcoBuddy to work--he loves to help--and take some pictures).

  • Remarkable Creativity. (Just be as creative as possible. Don't let our guidelines pigeon-hole you into a particular idea of what the photo should look like. It's completely open-ended. Put something together that's clean, tasteful, and fun and try to get the attention of our judges!)
