RepcoLite's Wii Paint Summer 2 contest is a PHOTO contest. However, it's not a dry and dusty photo contest where all that matters is lighting and composition. It's a FUN photo contest where the goal is to shoot FUNNY, ORIGINAL, CREATIVE, and IMPRESSIVE photos of your own RepcoBuddy Paint Can (CLICK HERE to see how you get your FREE RepcoBuddy). But, even though it's a FUN photo contest . . . it's still a photo contest. And that means we have to judge the photos. Here's how we'll do that (and it's really, pretty simple): The Basics
Each picture will be given a point value in 5 different categories. The scores will then be added together to produce a total. The picture with the most points wins the First Place Prize and so on.And that's it.
The 5 Judging Categories- The Public Vote
- Perceived Effort Involved
- Originality or Creativity
- Is the RepcoBuddy Prominently Displayed?
- Brownie Points
To help you better understand how your picture will receive its total score, here's a breakdown of the 5 Categories in which each picture will be judged: 1. The Public Vote (No Upper Points Limit)
Each picture that is submitted to our Wii Paint Summer 2 contest will be displayed on our website and will be open to receive votes from the general public. At the end of the contest, on September 4, 2009, we will close the voting and will tally the score. Your score in this category will be decided in this manner: We will take the total number of votes each picture receives and we'll DIVIDE that number by 100. We will then ADD that figure to the picture's rating number for a FINAL PUBLIC VOTE TOTAL. This particular Category has NO UPPER POINTS LIMIT. You will be awarded as many points as your picture earns.
- Because this is complicated, please consider this example: A picture recieves 2100 votes with a rating of 4.6. This picture would yield a score of 25.6 points. We achieve this by taking the 2100 votes and dividing by 100 to get 21. We then add the full value of the picture's rating (4.6) to this value of 21 to achieve a final total of 25.6.

Remember: Your total here has no upper limit. So submit quality shots and encourage everybody you know to vote!
2. Perceived Effort Involved (30 Points Max)Our Judges will look at each picture and will determine how much effort we feel was put into the shot. The more effort involved in the photo, the higher the point score (up to a maximum of 30 points) will be awarded. A few of the things we'll consider in arriving at this number will be: - Did you travel to take the shot? How far?
- How many people did you coordinate for the shot?
- How potentially embarrassing was the shot?
3. Originality or Creativity (20 Points Max)Our judges will look at each picture and will determine how ORIGINAL or CREATIVE the concept is. The more original or creative, the higher the point score (up to a maximum of 20 points) will be awarded. A few of the things our judges will consider in arriving at this number will be: - How much thought went into the shot?
- How creative were you?
- How funny is it?
- Is it something we've never seen before?
4. RepcoBuddy Displayed? (10 Points Max)Our judges will simply look for the RepcoBuddy. The more prominently he is displayed, the more points you'll get (up to a maximum of 10).
5. Brownie Points (5 Points Max)Our judges will look for a Pro-RepcoLite "Brownie Points" element to the photo. The more "Pro-RepcoLite" a message or photo is, the more points (up to a maximum of 5 points) will be awarded.
Once we have all these values figured out, we will add them up and the pictures with the highest score will win. Plain and simple.
